JH & D Smith Coaches
JH Smith Coaches (Now, JH & D Smith Coaches) first began operating in 1962 when Jospeh Smith picked up a home-to-school run from Kent County Council - in his very first vehicle - An 8 seater Bedford Dormobile.
In 1972, Joe's son David passed his PSV test and was welcomed into the fold - not knowing then that both would later become well known for looking after all the local school runs - challock, charing, pluckley, egerton, hothfield, wye, chartham, molash, ashford... the list goes on.
over the years, smith's has gained many loyal & valued clients - some groups have been repeat booking for decades! from day trips, to wedding travel arrangements - extensive road knowledge & a dedication to excellent customer care - Smith's Coaches pride ourselves on 'going the extra mile'.
in 2008, it was time for Joe to step down and retire - after 46 years of hard work he would entrust the family business to david. David now has the help of his own son, Richard, who looks after HQ and took over as office manager in 2013.
